Beijing-based JD.com, China's largest e-commerce firm, is expanding its Southeast Asia footprint by investing in Vietnamese e-commerce platform, Tiki. JD.com signed the share subscription agreement in Tiki's January financing round. Once the round closes, JD.com will be one of Tiki's largest shareholders, and will partner with the platform on cross-border trade, technology, financing and logistics. JD.com also said Tiki has grown at triple the industry average over the past seven years, and should soon become Vietnam's largest e-commerce platform.
