Comparison of optimization algorithms for aerodynamic shape design

Aerodynamic shape optimization is one of the major re- search areas of the present computational fluid dynamics community. Although various techniques have been presented, they have usually concentrated on how the existing optimization algo- rithms are applied to aerodynaimc problems. There were few papers that assessed performance of the optimization algorithms for areo- dynamic problems.
