摘要

This paper presents a finite elementmodel used to simulate the impact response of a fibermetal laminate. The load-ntime history, maximum deflection, and damage progression caused by impact loading were examined using annexplicit finite element model. Two- and three-dimensional failure criteria in the commercial finite element codenABAQUS are used tomodel stiffness degradation in the glass-fiber-reinforced composite layers of the laminates. Thenfinite element results showed good agreement with experimental measurements.
