摘要

The state of the art in drag prediction and decomposition has been presented, with an emphasis on van der Vooren and Destarac's method, which has clearly demonstrated its superiority over the years. The aim of this Note was to propose a new convergence criterion to use with the far-field method that allows the same accuracy as an absolute convergence. A rigorous criterion has been established that eliminates the need to fully converge the CFD solution in order to achieve accurate results for drag prediction. This new criterion allows for the possibility of achieving accurate results, while drastically decreasing computation time.
