摘要

Farrukh alvi is a professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Florida A&M University and Florida State University College of Engineering. He is the director of the Florida Center for Advanced Aero-propulsion, a multi-university, statewide research, technology, and education center he helped establish in 2008. He is also a Codirector of the recently established Federal Aviation Administration's Center of Excellence in Commercial Space Transportation. His area of research is in experimental fluid dynamics, where he studies fundamental fluid flow problems, many of which have direct practical applications. Some areas of interest include turbulent shear flows, separating flows, high-speed jets and the associated problems of compressible mixing and jet noise, and the development of optical diagnostics for fluid flows.
