Solution of Nonlinear Vibration Problem of a Prestressed Membrane by Adomian Decomposition

Prestressed membranes are an integral part of gossamer structures like space habitats, inflatable space antennas, inflatable wings, etc. [1]. We are interested in attaching a prestressed membrane to a tensegrity structure [2,3] so that we can harvest energy from its large amplitude vibration using electromechanical transducers. Analysis of flexible shell and membrane structures using the discrete and finite-element methods has been done by several researchers like Gallagher et al.
