SIR—Inpatient rehabilitation can improve physical functioningnand quality of life of older persons with musculoskeletaln(MSK) disorders [1–5]. For these persons, small gains innactivities of daily living (ADLs) may result in large improvementsnin functional status and independence [4].nThe advantage of rehabilitative services is clear; however,nthe availability of services is limited [6]. Consequently, it isnuseful to identify factors that may predict successful rehabilitationnand target limited resources to patients most likely tonbenefit—this information would also help to provide realisticnexpectations to patients and caregivers, and to guide care andndischarge planning [7, 8].
