Iranian scientists develop new non-toxic pigment for textile industry

Iranian researchers Tarbiat Modarres University, in collaboration with the Institute for Color Science and Technology, have successfully developed hematite nano-capsule as a non-toxic red pigment to be used in textile industry. "Cadmium sulphoselenide-zirconium inclusion red pigments were produced as the commercial red color due to the extreme need of textile industries. However, cadmium sulphoselenide is very toxic and harmful.
