South Sudan Indimi, boss of Oriental Energy, to move on Total’s block B

After diversifying into solar energy in Plateaurnstate in Nigeria ( AEI 787), the well-connectedrnNigerian businessman Muhammadu Indimi,rnfounder and chairman of Oriental Energy, isrnmaking every effort to invest beyond his country’srnborders. His latest whim is to acquire onernof the areas that the South Sudan governmentrnhas long been thinking of cutting out from thern118,000 sq.km. block B that France’s Total hasrnoperated since the 1980s. To do that Indimi canrncount on his close ties with South Sudan’s oilrnminister Ezekiel Lol Gatkuoth. Several otherrncompanies like ExxonMobil and Dig Oil havernalready tried to debut on Block B which hasrnbeen under force majeure for years. The SouthrnSudanese oil minister is pushing OrientalrnEnergy’s case because he wants to diversifyrnhis country’s oil partnerships, dominated byrnCNPC, ONGC and Petronas. In Nigeria, OrientalrnEnergy is active on OML 115 and operates thernEbok field on OML 67 in tandem with Afren.rnIt’s also active alongside Addax Petroleum onrnthe Okwok field ( AEI 783).
