The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees(UNHCR) has obtained government approval to beginimprovement works at the Kakuma refugee camp in thenorth-east of the country. The move was approved lastweek as an emergency measure, despite Interior MinisterFred Matiangi's ultimatum to the United Nations (UN) inMarch to have both the Kakuma and Dadaab campsclosed.
