Amaechi attends VIP Greco-Nigerian business summit

Greek business has subtly yet steadily flourished in Nigeria since independence, with the help of close-knit relationships with highly influential Nigerians. On 30 November, Michael Economakis, president of the Greek Nigerian Chamber of Commerce and Technology (GNCCT), held a meeting with the crème de la crème of Greek and Nigerian business at the Domotel Kastri Luxury Hotel, on the outskirts of Athens. The guest star, the influential Nigerian Minister of Transports Rotimi Amaechi, took great pleasure in boasting about all the developments President Muhammadu Buhari has made, namely in terms of railway infrastructure, but also in securing Nigeria's coastline. Amaechi met with various Greek ministers and businessmen on 29 November before encouraging the GNCCT audience to continue investing in his country, one with huge potential but which has millions of its residents living in poverty, due to an economy weakened by recession and a slow growth rate.
