Tshisekedi heads to Israel to talk security and business

After visiting Doha in March and Abu Dhabi and Dubai from 12 to 14 October, Félix Tshisekedi has agreed to make a new stop in the Middle East. According to our sources, he is expected at the invitation of Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett to spend three days in the Jewish state. Tshisekedi promised at a Washington conference of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) in March 2020 that he would soon open an embassy in Tel Aviv and an economic development office in Jerusalem. Eighteen months have passed and no ambassador has been appointed, nor have any premises been chosen to house future Congolese diplomats.
