Kampala welcomes Afghan refugees and mulls return of its guards

In a move that should smooth over his relations with Washington, Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni has pledged to take in up to 2,000 Afghan refugees, of which 51 have already landed at Entebbe airport. The government is currently in negotiations with US ambassador Natalie E. Brown over the cost of taking in these refugees while at the same time looking into how to bring home its paramiltary troops stuck in Afghanistan.
