After several months of serious tensions over Madrid and Berlin's refusal to follow the Trump administration's in the air.A crucial test will come during a debate being tabled inthe European Parliament today, Thursday 10 June, duringwhich MEPs will discuss the possible violation of theUnited Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child byMorocco, which in mid-May knowingly allowed severalthousand migrants (among them many minors) to reachthe Spanish enclave of Ceuta. If the parliament decidesthat it has breached the convention, this could haveserious repercussions for Morocco, which is concernedthat the European Union might review the veryfavourable farming and fishing free trade accords that itmanaged to renegotiate with the EU in 2018.
