Lotus Resources poaches ex-Paladin execs to revive Kayelekera uranium

Australian mining company Lotus Resources made several key appointments in May in preparation for work on its newly acquired Kayelekera project in Malawi. Until late April, the company had no uranium expert among its ranks, a shortcoming it addressed by the appointment of two sector veterans to its board on 15 May. These are James Eggins, now non-executive chairman, and Andrew Mirco. Both Eggins and Mirco have had a string of roles within Australia's uranium industry, either on the side of uranium operators or with industry organisations such as the World Nuclear Association. They also have another key point in common: both previously worked for Paladin Energy, the company that owned Kayelekera until it was sold to Lotus in March.
