Angolan law firm and hydrocarbons consultancy MC Jurist offers more than just legal advice. The group’s cofounder, Nuno de Miranda Catanas, has created an oil services joint venture which includes MC - Fiducia Petroleum Corporate Services and MC - Fiducia Holdings. The new entity, Ixora Stream, opened its doors in Luanda in late January. It aims to seek exploration contracts, provide maintenance services and import and export hydrocarbons. MC - Fiducia Petroleum Corporate Services, which holds over half of Ixora Stream, was founded in November 2016 by Catanas and his wife Ana Martins De Carvalho Catanas, partner and head of the tax and human resources department at MC Jurist. MC Jurist paralegal Nerica dos Santos is also a representative of MC - Fiducia Holding. Nuno de Miranda Catanas has a side business in the agri-food industry. He heads Bonjour, a firm that signed a $22 million contract with Agência de Investimento Privado (ANIP) in 2012 to build a pasta factory in Luanda. Bonjour’s official representative is legal expert Nerica Helena Bento dos Santos, who is also understood to hold shares in Ixora Stream.
