CONGO-B New Age needs to sell Marine Ⅻ as fast as possible

New Age African Global Energy needs cash. According to our sources, the firm founded by Steve Lowden, who previously worked for Marathon Oil and is now advisor to Equatorial Guinea’s minister of oil Gabriel Obiang Lima ( AEI 833), is still trying to find a buyer for the 25% stake it owns in the Congolese permit Marine Ⅻ, operated by ENI. One of the Marine Ⅻ fields, Nene, is in production and New Age could be looking for in the region of somewhere between $400 and $500 million for its 25% stake. This asking price may be a bit steep for junior companies while larger firms that are able to drum up the cash are likely to want to become the operator in return for their investment, though ENI has no plans to relinquish this role.
