Background It is difficult to measure exactly the amount of adipose tissue by which the body is reduced after liposuction. Dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) has been widely used in not only the diagnosis of osteoporosis but also the analysis of body composition such as the amount of bone mineral, adipose tissue, and other soft tissue. With this technique we can determine the exact amount of adipose tissue removed by liposuction.
