Reporting the war to end all wars

At 11 am on 11 November 1918, the Armistice was declared heralding the end of the Great War. As far as popular opinion was concerned, the newly formed Royal Air Force had acquitted itself well. The final months of the war, when the allies were again on the offensive against Germany, the RAF had retained control of the air and its aircraft were being used in a variety of air/ land support missions from aerial observation of German forces to ground attack and strategic bombing raids.
