The Lawrence Sperry Award recognizes outstanding contributions to the field of aerospace by individuals 35 years of age or younger. Each year the Young Professional Committee (YPC) reviews the nominations of very qualified individuals and each year the selection process gets more difficult. This year was no exception. This year's candidate nominees covered the entire industry. We received nominations from large defense contractors, commercial and general aviation aircraft companies, government agencies and organizations in the space and communications field.
