With sir Sydney Camm's Fury and Sea Fury examined in detail in this issue, Picture of the Month takes the opportunity to select this dynamic formation of in-service Sea Furies. The type's combination of fine lines and brute power are manifest in this portrait, which first appeared in The Aeroplane in March 1952.rnAt the time this photograph was taken the Sea Fury was active in Korea, which would prove to be its swansong in first-line Fleet service; these three FB.11s were, however, on strength with No 1832 Sqn of the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve. This unit, which had begun to receive the single-seat Sea Fury in August 1951, was based at Culham, from where it served as the RNVR's fighter squadron for the Thames Valley area. In 1952 The Aeroplane announced RNVR re-equipment with the type under the title Reserve Striking Power.
