Duging the 1960s and 70s the collection continued to grow at a rapid pace through donations, purchases and swaps. An interesting and unique example of an exchange is the acquisition from India of a Consolidated B-24 Liberator which was flown all the way back to Canada by an RCAF crew between June 6 and 18,1968.rnFrom 1967 to 1989 the museum continued to fly several of its aircraft, including World War One machines, until cost considerations and the dangers to the collection led to the practice being discontinued. Major restoration projects were undertaken throughout the period.
