Tornado sortie

No XIII Sqn was disbanded at RAF Marham, Norfolk, on May 13, 2011 - Friday the 13th... Just weeks before, the unit had carried out operational sorties on Operation Ellamy, the UK's military action over Libya in support of UN Security Council Resolution 1973. A week prior to the unit's disbandment, one last flight was made by six Panavia Tornado GR.4s flown by XIII Sqn crews. Here we present a selection of pictures of that historic occasion as a unique comparison to the Blenheim V sortie.
