It is difficult to calculate the exact number of Siskins produced, partly because AWA, which was busy with work on its new Atlas army cooperation aircraft, was not the sole Siskin manufacturer or repairer. The Bristol Aeroplane Co built 85 Siskins, Gloster Aircraft built 74, Vickers Ltd 52 and the Blackburn Aeroplane & Motor Co 42. Except for Blackburn, if necessary these companies also appear to have been contracted to recondition, repair, modify or test each other's Siskins, and some of these seem to have crept into production totals. Indirectly, the Ministry and AWA had created a separate new sector of the aircraft industry. Gloster, which had recently bought The Steel Wing Co but had never built aircraft designed by another contractor, delivered its 74 Siskins during a two-year period at a cost of some £795,000.
