摘要

The second prototype Air Baby, OK-PGB, arrived in Britain on August 15,1935. Demonstration flights were made at Heston airfield, prompting the management of F. Hills and Sons, a Manchester-based woodworking company, to secure the rights to build the type at its Traf-ford Park factory. That November Air Baby OK-PGC was imported for use in pre-production work and registered G-ADXL, above. The Bradford-based Jowett car company was appointed to produce the 36 h.p. Praga B engine under licence. Unfortunately it was built using non-approved materials, and only recived an Authorisation to Fly rather than a full C of A. The troublesome unit was replaced with the AeroncaJAP engine in many airframes. The type was renamed Hillson Praga, and in April 1936 the company announced orders for 40 aircraft and claimed that production for that year would be 200. Sadly the plans were overoptimistic, and only 37 were laid down, 26 getting as far as the British register.
