Meeting the Electra's 'son and heir'

Sir, When I read the article on the Lockheed Electra 14 airliner in the April issue, I recalled the time when as a young "plane spotter" living close to the former Heston Airport (sadly now buried beneath the M4, somewhere close to the Heston services centre) I used to watch out for the British Airways examples making their approach to the airfield (no concrete runways) and I occasionally saw them on the tarmac from the visitors' area. They were graceful looking airliners - particularly when compared to some of the more staid rivals which were in service with other operators.
