It was a gorgeous Saturday morning in late February 2013 at Winter Haven, Florida, with skies clear and blue and not a stitch of wind. A golf cart with a large yellow cylinder pulled an aviation veteran out of the hangar and across the field. It had been seven years since this piece of history had left the bounds of earth. Arriving on the far side of the field on a massive grass strip, the Morane-Saulnier was disconnected from the golf cart and the large cylinder was attached. After a couple of last minute checks and the pre-flight, the compressed air turned over the engine and with the most magnificent roar the aeroplane came to life. A few moments later it took to the skies where it belonged.
