MAM hit the heights

The Military Aviation Museum's Warbirds over the Beach show at Virginia Beach, Virginia attracted the largest ever crowd to attend a privately-run airshow in the state of Virginia on May 17-18, with about 4,500 visitors passing through the gates. Highlights included formation flypasts comprising de Havilland Mosquito FB.26 KA114, Supermarine Spitfire Ⅸ MJ730, and Hawker Hurricane Ⅻ, RCAF 5667, and German parachute troop re-enactors dropping from a CASA 352 (Spanish-built Junkers 52). On the morning of May 17, the latest acquisition for the MAM collection, North American P-64 replica NX22518, arrived from its previous home at Louise, Texas, where it had been operated by Daron D. Skurich.
