Pleasure flight operator Classic Wings started Spitfire passenger flights at its IWM Duxford base on 10 April. The aircraft used was Spitfire IXT MJ627 from Biggin Hill. Taking advantage of the new 'informed consent' arrangements detailed in these pages over recent months, Classic Wings offers a 30-minute 'flight experience in the Spitfire's rear seat, including around 20 minutes spent in the air, from £2,995. It will operate the trips on various dates between now and October, while training packages are also offered.
