Eindhoven airlift HQ gets a Transall

Eindhoven air base in the Netherlands now has a new preserved airframe, in the shape of a former Luftwaffe Transall C-160D, serial 50+95. Previously operated by Luftttransportgeschwader (Air Transport Wing) 63 at Hohn, the machine arrived at Eindhoven on 12 September, and is now displayed in front of the headquarters building of the European Air Transport Command (EATC). The Transall was donated by the German government to the EATC, the organisation that co-ordinates military air transport for the participating countries. It is painted in a special livery created for the 2016 celebration of the 55th anniversary of LTG 63 and the 60th anniversary of the reconstituted German Air Force.
