摘要

At London Colney, Hertfordshire, good progress has been made over the winter on restoration of the de Havilland Aircraft Museum's DH112 Sea Venom FAW22, XG730. With the fit-out of the cockpit now complete and both ejection seats refurbished and re-installed, project leader Alistair Hodgson says that after considerable work on the metal structure of the canopy frame it has now been mated back to the fuselage pod and just awaits a set of new Perspex transparencies to replace the old panels, which were badly clouded. Next steps will be restoration of the nose and radome, and the hydraulic pipework on the rear bulkhead of the pod. It is hoped to start restoring some of the larger components of the disassembled aircraft (such as engine cowlings, fuel tanks and the outer wings) during the course of the year.
