Quax-Flieger group gets a Pilatus P2

This year sees the German Quax-Flieger group celebrating its 10th anniversary, and to mark that fact Pilatus P2-06 U-132/D-EGAW has been acquired from an owner at Oldenburg-Hatten airfield in northern Germany. It will soon be based with the rest of the Quax fleet at Paderborn-Lippstadt Airport in North Rhine-Westphalia. The trainer, c 49, was originally delivered to the Swiss Air Force at Duebendorf in October 1948. The Quax-Flieger now boast more than 550 members, and a fleet that includes a Focke-Wulf Fw 44 Stieglitz, Klemm Kl 35, Boeing Stearman N2S-3, CASA 1.131 Jungmann, Stampe SV-4C, Piaggio P149D and two DHC Chipmunks. The Pilatus is the first of several new additions expected in 2016.
