Seiran survivors? QA request for details about the Japanese Aichi M6A1 Seiran float-equipped attack aircraft, and the submarines from which the type was flown, appeared in the May issue. A Jeremy Downs refers to information in War Prizes by Phil Butler, which confirms that only one example of the M6A1 Seiran was recovered intact at the end of the war and is currently exhibited in the National Air and Space Museum in Virginia. A single M6A1-K Nanzan land-based trainer version was also retrieved from Japan, but this was scrapped at NAS Seattle in late 1946 or early 1947. As Jeremy says, "Others may have been captured intact, but only two were shipped back to the USA."
