British Military Test and Evaluation Aircraft: The Golden Years 1945-1975

This latest in the Flightcraft series has a lot going for it, starting with a highly impressive number of words in its title. Compiled by Neil Robinson and Martin Derry, two names well-known in the modelling fraternity, this is primarily a pictorial work, although its 72 pages are divided into four chapters, each covering a decade. There are numerous excellent colour profiles and the occasional colour four-view featuring a wide variety of often very brightly marked aircraft, all the work of Mark Rolfe. Photos are equally abundant, with illustrations covering the later years in colour, while those from the 1940s and '50s are primarily monochrome. Pure text is confined to the introduction and a summary at the start of each chapter, although the photo captions are decently informative.
