The field of integrated navigation is diverse and complex. This coupled with the continuous introduction of new techniques, sensors and requirements mean that even those of us working in this subject on a day-to-day basis sometimes need to pause and review the state-of-the-art.rnThis book is published as part of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Education Series and it is a real tour-de-force, addressing all of the major topics in this subject area in precise mathematical terms as well as providing useful information about specific applications. Excitingly, for those of us who need to make real systems work, the book addresses some of the lesser known tricks of the trade (efficient and stable Kalman filter mechanisation (U-D), quaternions, feedback timing etc.) and some advanced topics such as the unscented Kalman filtering.
