摘要

We would like to thank the discussants for their interest in our recently published article [1] on the subject of vegetated compound channel hydraulics. We would like to respond to their comments [2].rnThe first part of their comments: "In present study, the authors emphasize in the abstract as one of the most important conclusions that boundary shear stress is significantly reduced by the additional flow resistance caused by the vegetation. This conclusion is correct only when the obstructive element is rigid cylinder. However, if the obstructive element is a natural tree with large trunk this conclusion is quite open to discussion." Before we discuss the comments, we would like to make clear that our experiments were carried out for one-line rods at the edge of the floodplain for quasi uniform flow, not considering only one tree in the channel.
