Making sailing safer, more comfortable

Inserts that protect the body from impacts are included in the latest range of sailing gear from Manchester, UK-based Henri Lloyd. Called Deck Armour, the inserts are made using Dow Coming's silicone-based Deflexion,a patent-pending material that remains flexible until it is struck when it rapidly becomes rigid. Revealed at the Marine Equipment Trade Show (16-18 November.Amsterdam.The Netherlands), Henri Lloyd's Shockwave sailing gear range for 2011 has internal pockets to contain the inserts.
