3M defends intellectual property rights for reflective materials

3M.3M Innovative Properties Co and 3M Canada say they have settled a patent-infringement lawsuit concerning reflective fire-coat trim against Eurotex of Toronto, Canada. Eurotex has consented to an order entered by the Federal Court in Ottawa, Canada, stipulating that it pays 3M for past profits. 3M says the Court also issued an injunction prohibiting Eurotex from making, selling and distributing any products that would infringe 3M's Canadian Patent 2 188 141, including those that Eurotex previously sold under the trade namesTriViz, TrivizMyLite, and FireLiteC.
