Researchers at the North Carolina State University of Raleigh, USA, have developed a range of three-dimensional (3D) spacer textiles that protect plants from wildlife while allowing for the penetration of light and air. The fabrics offer a chemical-free, non-biological approach to crop protection, and are designed to help reduce the amount of pesticides used in the agricultural and horticultural industries.
