Air handling units optimise energy savings

Flakt Woods' eQ PRIME range of air handling units is designed to reduce capital costs and optimise energy savings. Available in eight sizes, the units are compact in size, fully controllable and capable of providing nominal airflows between 0.4m~3/s to 6m~3/s. The eQ PRIME are said to contain newly engineered, energy efficient, permanent magnet motors, which help to lower specific fan power volume (SFPv) and possibly reduce the overall size of the unit. Another new component is the Semco rotary energy recovery wheel. Due to its high levels of moisture transfer and thermal efficiency, this can help reduce boiler and chiller loads. Units also feature a Class F7 supply/extract air filter, providing a clean indoor environment, while protecting the interior workings from airborne debris.
