In an age of growing environmental awareness and increasing regulation, manufacturers and equipment suppliers generally face growing demand for responsible, sustainable products. For the refrigeration industry in particular, this means finding more energy-efficient solutions and shifting to refrigerants with less environmental impact. Compressor manufacturers must be on the cutting edge of this movement, providing the most efficient equipment possible to facilitate the move to natural and alternative refrigerants. To this end, Frascold has partnered with several leading Universities and research institutions around the world and it continues to invest in its line of natural refrigerant compressors. It is well known that carbon dioxide is one of the primary drivers of climate change, mainly due to the extremely large volume of the gas released, by the industrial processes, into the atmosphere. A record of CO_2 45bn tons was released into the atmosphere through burning fossil fuels in 2017 alone (The Global Carbon Project, 2017). It is estimated that 2.8m pounds is emitted every second, and this upward trend is expected to continue.
