MOOCs and Libraries

In November 2012, the New York Times declared 2013 as the "Year of the MOOCs or Massive Open Online Courses". At that time, MOOCs were heralded as the "game-changer" in higher education because they enable people from all walks of life and from anywhere in the world to take online courses or classes in just about any subject or discipline.
