There are striking resonances between the Domesday Book, which goes online this month, and the position that those involved with taxation find themselves in today. John Whiting studies the archives. The oldest surviving British record held at The National Archives, the iconic Domesday Book, is going online this month. The move is a monumental step and is in line with The National Archives' aim of making its records more accessible to the general public.
