Alderman Luder dons his robes

Grant Thornton tax partner lan Luder will be donning his ceremonial robes this month as he takes up his elected position as one of the two sheriffs of the City of London. In this role, which dates back to the Middle Ages, he will oversee the election of the new lord mayor on 1 October and help him or her to promote the City as a financial centre of excellence. He will also be responsible for looking after the needs of judges in the Old Bailey and presenting any petitions from the City to parliament.
