Procter & Gamble has lost a case in which it alleged that the Pringles Original product should be zero rated as not being analogous to a potato crisp. It had already won a previous VAT tribunal case in respect of a different but similar product, in which it was decided that, given that the potato content of the product was less than half of its contents, it could not be regarded as a product made from potatoes as such.
