Recent YouGov research commissioned by T-Mobile found that 79% of British workers see less than an hour of daylight a day. Perhaps more startlingly, 49% of workers fail to notch up a mere 30 minutes a day outdoors. And given that the survey was conducted over the summer, one can only imagine how horrific the numbers could look over the winter months. For me, these figures illustrate that people may be working unproductively. Don't get me wrong: I'm not saying that British workers should necessarily try to work fewer hours. If your competitors - or even your colleagues - are doing perhaps 10 or 14 hours a day, you aren't going to have a great future if you try to cruise by on nine to five every day.
