An accountant who stole more than £9,000 from his employer has been excluded from membership of the 1CAEW at a tribunal. Ewan Joseph Tracey was convicted of theft of money of £9,211.84 and petty cash of £248 on dates between 2006 and 2007 from bathroom supplier Bristan Group. The tribunal said mitigating factors included his 'obvious contrition', the fact that he handed himself over to police and his offer to make amends. Tracey was not fined or ordered to pay costs because of his 'parlous financial circumstances'.
