Two current and two former Ernst & Young partners in the US were last month found guilty on tax charges.rnRobert Coplan, Martin Nissenbaum, Richard Shapiro and Brian Vaughn were found guilty at Manhattan federal court of conspiracy, tax evasion and obstruction of justice charges relating to the design, marketing and implementation of tax shelters sold by the firm.rnThe court heard that the four led efforts to create tax shelterrntransactions used by wealthy individuals to eliminate, reduce or defer tax liabilities on annual income that generally exceeded $10m (£6.4m) or $20m.rnNissenbaum and Shapiro are current partners of the Big Four firm while Coplan and Vaughn are former partners. They pleaded not guilty to the charges.
