The ICAEW recently held its Policy Summit 2009 on the topic of 'The new economic landscape: rebuilding confidence'. The event was crammed with luminaries of the business and financial world and presided over by Stephanie Flanders, the BBC's glamorous economics correspondent. We are not certain, however, if every member of the audience was in rapt attention at topics such as 'the long-term impact of the credit crunch on the global economy' and 'the priorities of the new US administration and what they will mean for business'. Two male attendees were overheard discussing how 'hot' Ms Flanders was. Shame on you.
