Do you know an ICAEW member who has made a real difference through their charity work? If so, the institute would be interested in hearing from you. Every year it presents four awards under its Everybody Counts scheme. These recognise the time, level of involvement and commitment that members put into charitable work. Last year, for example, Kath Qualtrough received the award in the younger members category for her work with Juconi, a charity that supports street-working children in Ecuador. In addition to spending unpaid leave working with the children, she has completed both the London and Paris marathons and the London triathlon and raised more than £40,000. As well as the younger members category, there are awards for members in business, members in practice and retired members. Winners receive a £2,000 cheque for their charity.
